Language learning games: challenges, duels and kids' games by age
Adults get challenges and duels at their own level and appear on the leaderboard; children get games made for their age band and never reach the adult area.
MetaLingo's learning games module is motivated practice: an adult play area with a CEFR-levelled question bank, a daily challenge, duels with classmates and a leaderboard; and a kids' area with separate games for ages three to six (such as colours, shapes and animal sounds) and six to nine (such as word match, sentence builder and rhyme). The server decides the age band, not the browser.

Questions we hear a lot
How is a child kept out of the adult area?
The age band is read from the student record on the server; a child sees only their age band's games, and the named leaderboard and duels are closed to them.
Where do the adult questions come from?
From the school's question bank, at the student's own CEFR level.
